** The Seanchan: Deathwatch Guards **

Seanchan Deathwatch Guards are an elite group of soldiers both human and Ogier, fitted with standard samurai-like Seanchan armor, but distinct in "armor lacquered blood red and nearly black green", with black helmet plumes denoting an officer. Three thin black plumes on the front of the helmet mark Banner-General Furyk Karede. Helmets are fitted with "half-concealing cheek-pieces". The Guard carries swords and spears adorned with black tassels, and black-lacquered shields. <TPoD: 23, 443, Fog of War, Fog of Battle; 24, 458, A Time for Iron; 596, Glossary; TSR: 1, 44, Seeds of Shadow; RJWoT: 17, 161, Seanchan; WH: 14, 325-8, What a Veil Hides; 18, 379, An Offer>

The Ogier Gardeners accompanying Tuon are Deathwatch Guards as well, though not actually da'covale, or property: "... two dozen Ogier Gardeners in the red-and-green ... black-tasseled axes upright in front of them ... they also had asked to be in her guard ..." <WH: 18, 377, An Offer> Ogier Gardeners' helmets and body armor are painted and lacquered identically to that of their human counterparts.<CoT: 4, 166, The Tale of a Doll; Glossary, 688>

A few more details: Ogier Gardeners' axes are further described as long-hafted, and First Gardener Hartha's "red-and-green lacquered armor contained enough steel to make armor for three or four humans." <KoD: 34, 706, A Cup of Kaf>
