** Myrddraal **

"The Fade moved with viperous grace, the serpent illusion heightened by the armor of black, overlapping plates that covered its chest." <TGH: 6, 90, Dark Prophecy>

Myrddraal are "... armored in black overlapping scales like a snake's ... night-black cloak hanging still however it darted ...", <TFoH: 22, 397, Birdcalls by Night> and carry a "... dead black blade ... dark steel forged in Thakandar..." <TSR: 10, 188, The Stone Stands>.

This armor is a "... black articulated plate ... in multiple overlapping strips over black gambeson and breeches ... A black cloak with deep cowl is worn over the armor and often covers the sword ..." <RJWoT: 7, 76, Shadowspawn>. The armor covers its chest only, the cloak hangs undisturbed, and the sword appears a simple, straight blade, though crafted through a sophisticated process. All are of an unrelieved black. <TSR: 40, 668, Hunter of Trollocs, and aforementioned references>
